Places to visit

 

Arpoador

Famous for rock that invades the sea and separates Copacabana beach, you can  have a wonderful view of the city. On one side the Ipanema and Leblon beaches with the: “morro dois irmaos” in the background; on the other side, the “praia do diabo”  and Copacabana beaches. Christ the Redeemer If you have not visited Christ the Redeemer “The Wonder of Rio ” do not waste time. The statue is located at the top of Corcovado Mountain, 709 meters above sea level, in the Tijuca National Park, overlooking the city. A symbol of Brazilian Christianity, the statue has become an  icon of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.

 

Copacabana fort

Built in 1914 to reinforce the defense of Guanabara Bay, the Copacabana Fort offers tourists many curiosities. In the Army Historical Museum, milestones are recorded in exhibitions, videos , models and even an interactive industry, unique and quite visited.    Ipanema Sophisticated and with an intense nightlife, Ipanema and an upscale neighborhood,  is bordered by the neighborhoods of Copacabana, Leblon and Lagoa.  Botanical Garden A true ecological sanctuary. It has the rarest species of flora from Brazil and other countries, it is also a great option for leisure and pleasure for nature lovers. Maracanã The biggest stadium in the world. In the land of soccer, where this sport is a religion, it is considered by many the  Temple of the Gods.

 

Pão de Açucar

rioSugar Loaf First cable car  installed in Brazil and third in the world , it is one of the largest of Rio’s tourism icons.  Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas Connected to the sea by the Jardim de Alah canal that divides Ipanema and Leblon, the margins host parks, sports courts, skating rink, heliport, among others. The lagoon is one of the most striking attractions when viewed from Corcovado and near is even more beautiful. Your surroundings are often used by city residents but visitors can also take advantage of its attractions.

 

Copacabana beach

Attended both day and night, the beach has kiosks, bike path, bike racks, lifeguard stations with showers and toilets, hotels, bars and restaurants. In addition, the site has two military forts, one at each end, with panoramic views and opens to visitors.
